Hua Yanjun (1893-1950), more commonly known as Ah Bing, composed The Moon Reflected on the Er-quan Spring in Wuxi.
Reputed as the capital of erhu (a two-stringed Chinese fiddle), Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has given rise to a multitude of outstanding musicians who have been dedicated to enhancing the appeal of this Chinese folk musical instrument.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, a number of legendary figures from Jiangyin, a county-level city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, have played an important role in enhancing the artistry of erhu, a two-stringed Chinese vertical fiddle.
Often known by Westerners as the Chinese violin, the instrument, which is believed to have originated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), is deeply rooted in Xinwu district of Wuxi.
