The Wuxi Symphony Orchestra is ready to embark on a groundbreaking artistic dialogue bridging northern and southern China in Beijing from April 18 to 20, with its debut set to take place at the 9th National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) China Orchestra Festival.
The orchestra will present three themed concerts across three iconic cultural venues in Beijing: the NCPA Concert Hall, Tsinghua University, and Peking University.
Highlights include the world premiere of Flying Apsaras, a symphonic suite dedicated to China's space heroes, and collaborations with international artists such as soprano Kristine Opolais and pianist Yin Zhi, whose performances fuse European romanticism with Jiangnan elegance.
This "Jiangnan culture meets Beijing" tour transcends geographical boundaries, weaving together the vibrant rhythms of Jiangnan with the grandeur of Beijing, while harmonizing tradition and modernity and blending Eastern and Western musical traditions.
