Wuxi Central Station's public piano area hosted a concert on the afternoon of March 22, welcoming Wuxi marathon participants and travelers from across the nation with a series of pleasant melodies.
The Wuxi Rhine Orchestra, collaborating with Wuxi Central Station, delivered a performance blending saxophone, piano, flute, clarinet, and trombone.
Over the course of an hour, 11 pieces bridged cultures and eras, including Grammy classic saxophone solo Just the Two of Us, modern pop violin renditions of Jay Chou's Floral Sea, and a flute interpretation of Wuxi's folk classic Taihu Mei (The Beauty of Taihu Lake).
Though brief, the concert transformed the station into a poetic space, reflecting Wuxi's identity as a music city — sincere, inclusive, and ever-welcoming.
As runners prepared for the marathon on March 23, where 35,000 athletes would soon dash through the cherry-blossom-lined routes, this prelude underscored how art and sports intertwine in Wuxi.
