Kan Xianzhi

Kan Xianzhi (1895–1963) was a renowned Taoist priest from Wuxi and the leader of the "Shibuchai", a Taoist music group. Skilled in various instruments, he also collaborated with Yang Yinliu in compiling the Shifan Luogu (a musical form composed of more than 10 wind and percussion instruments) collection. Kan was an accomplished guqin player who studied under masters such as Zhao Hongxue and Jiang Hancha.
