Wu Wanqing (1847–1926) was a distinguished Kunqu Opera artist and the head of the Tianyun Studio for 50 years. Renowned for his profound understanding of musical tones and vocal resonance, his expertise in composition, and his proficiency in Chinese traditional instruments such as the sanxian, pipa, and qudi, Wu was an accomplished master of qingqu in the Liangxi region. Among his notable disciples were Mei Lanfang and Yang Yinliu.
