The 2023-24 music season of the Wuxi Chinese Orchestra in Jiangsu province wrapped up with a closing concert on Aug 3 at the Wuxi Grand Theater.

Conducted by Yan Huichang, the concert began with the December suite, which portrays picturesque natural scenery and is imbued with profound philosophies on life.

The erhu concerto Great Wall Capriccio is not only a hymn to the great architecture of the Great Wall, but also a praise of the indomitable and self-improving spirit of the Chinese nation.

The Chinese orchestral piece Sounds of the Tang Dynasty played out the history and cultural heritage of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), allowing the audience to experience not only the brilliance of the era but also the yearning and pursuit of a peaceful life by the people of that time.

As the melody gradually approached its conclusion, the young artists of the Wuxi Youth Chinese Orchestra, like messengers crossing through time and space, slowly stepped onto the stage, proceeding to steal the show with their youthful vigor and energy.
